- What should I use to protect my red satin shoes and handbag set?
I have bought a beautiful handbag and shoe set from Kurt Geiger in red satin. I would really like to protect them before I wear them to make sure I get more than 1 wear out of them! Suggestions on any protection sprays etc I could use on satin would be greatly appreciated.
A Use soft bags, that came with one of your purses, or make one in flannel, but hand-machine stitching the 3 sides of fabric. Fabric repellant type spray but follow direction, they may spot. Not 100% guaranteed, though. Be careful.

I have a silver satin handbag which has discoloured to a not very pleasant yellow tinge. Is there any way to get it back to silver again?
A Take it to your local dry cleaner and ask if they can get it back to silver. I have seen the dry cleaner work miracles with some of my things! I'm pretty sure that will solve your problem! If that doesn't work, you could try hand-washing it with Woolite (or dishwashing liquid) and lukewarm water. This might make it wrinkly, but if you're careful, you could probably iron or steam the wrinkles out. If that doesn't work, my last best idea is carpet and upholstery cleaner and/or spot remover. I have no guarantees on what this will do, so you might want to try it in an inconspicuous spot first. If all these methods fail, your only hope is to take it to a place that dyes satin shoes (some formal and bridal shops do, or they will certainly know who does!), and have it dyed. It shouldn't cost very much and should solve the problem. That might be your best bet after dry-cleaning, if you don't want to take any chances with home remedies! Good luck!
